Well, at least the shirts button correctly.
Oh, yeah, Nina’s in labor and doesn’t want any of those Commie paramedics bossing her around or saving her and her unborn child’s life. Huh.
Apparently, Edda is not pregnant, therefore not a breeder.
So she must be carried off into oblivion by another non-breeder.
Over in another dimension of NYC, Nina equates pregnancy with death.
Obviously in the A3G-verse, obstetrics hasn’t advanced very far (like Tommie’s music career, what there was of it).
I think Nina should have worked this out before she got pregnant.
I also think UNFPA (The United Nations Population Fund [Formerly- United Nations Fund for Population Activities or UNFPA]) rules!
“The number of women dying due to complications in pregnancy and childbirth has almost halved in 20 years, according to new estimates released today by the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the World Bank.
“From 1990 to 2010, the number of maternal deaths dropped from more than 540,000 to less than 290,000 – a decline of 47%. While substantial progress has been achieved in almost all regions, many countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, will fail to reach the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) target of reducing maternal mortality by 75% from 1990 to 2015.
“Every two minutes a woman dies of pregnancy-related complications, the four most common causes being: severe bleeding after childbirth, infections, hypertensive disorders and unsafe abortion. 99% of these deaths are in developing countries and most of them could have been prevented.
“Skilled health care in pregnancy, and during and after childbirth can prevent most maternal deaths. Family planning services are also essential to prevent unintended pregnancies.
“With support from the United States, the work of UNFPA has contributed to the dramatic decline in maternal mortality. UNFPA works in 150 countries around the world to help mothers survive pregnancy and childbirth and with our help, UNFPA can continue its efforts to reduce maternal deaths worldwide.”
So of course what passes for leadership in the Psycho Section of the House of Representatives wants to ban funding for UNFPA. Tell Congress to fund it! Or Nina will be right! And we can’t have that, can we?
I don’t know what Nina’s got to be scared about when she can teleport like a mofo. Why does she need Tommie the midwife when she can just teleport the baby out with her mind? I guess Tommie’s midwife career is going as well as her music career. Yeah, I know, what music career?
Why can’t the Dick Tracy team do this strip, too? Why? I ask you.
Welcome to the post everyone loves to hate! And now you can even put some money on it! Yay!

I wonder. I mean, Brooke, if you don’t approve of abortions, don’t get one.
I also wonder when I’ll start liking this strip again. I’ve only been reading it for 15 years and I hope this is its nadir or something.
